Obituary for Faye L. Weir

Faye L. Weir, 83, of Oxford, PA passed away on Tuesday, July 3, 2018 at Calvert Manor Healthcare Center, Rising Sun, MD.

She was the wife of the late John W. Weir, Sr.

Born in Lancaster, she was the daughter of the late Garvin W. and Hazel M. Fisher Hamm.

Faye was a mail carrier for the US Post Office in Oxford for 35 years.

She enjoyed horses, fox hunting, antique auctions, gardening and travelling with the Pacesetters. Faye loved her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren.

She is survived by one son, John W. Weir, Jr. (Patti) of Newark, DE; one daughter, Deborah W. Sampson (Donald) of Oxford; four grandchildren, Shannon Phillips (Mike), Stacey Sampson, John G. Weir and Brian Weir; four great-great grandchildren, Jacob Sampson, Joshua Phillips, Mackenzie Phillips and Jackson Phillips; one brother, Richard G. Hamm of E. Petersburg, PA; and three sisters, Patricia McDowell of Yuma, AZ, Joan Reisler of Oxford and Barbara Turner of Lancaster.

Funeral services will be held at 2:30 pm Friday, July 6, 2018, at the Edward L. Collins, Jr. Funeral Home, Inc., 86 Pine St., Oxford, where friends and family may visit from 1:30 – 2:30pm.

Interment will be in Oxford Cemetery.
